Contents   A mysterious ritual, fire, smoke and surreal landscapes. A young woman on her trip between dream and reality to find her second part, the wolf inside her. There is a wolf in every woman - which combines tenderness and feminity and strength and animalism. YLVA is a Nordic name that means "she-wolf". Affection for animals and nature, combined with creative urbanity, characterizes the products that stand out by their unique design and the individuality of being hand-made. The wolf as a symbol of strength, togetherness and a touch of mysticism is the heart piece of each collection.

Production   Association Remembering for the Future, Vienna
Releases   Premiere 6th nov. 2009, Villach, Carinthia / At the Austrina Cinemas: 5th nov. 2010
Contents   She travelled a lot; across the whole wide world: Helga in Italy with a campervan, Helga at picnic on the Pacific Coast, Helga at her weekly choir get-togethers. The kitchen fridge is humming. In the end: the last photograph with her whole family taken in Sonnenstraße in Villach, Austria. A scarf. A bracelet. Not much has remained. Reminders of the past are scattered across the kitchen table. They are the starting point of a journey through time into the Carinthia of the 1940ies, into a family’s daily vocation against the Nazi regime. A family whose life was brutally torn apart, in effect still is disrupted yet powerfully remembered. ‘Wild Mint’ tells the story of a mother-daughter relationship beyond death, it´s a film on the violent loss of beloved persons, on traumatic experiences as well as on thirst for life and personal strength – above all how to come to terms with the past. Quietly the film follows the flow of remembrance and everyday life of the 80-year-old female protagonist, who surprises with her zest for life, vitality and humour.

Contents   Andreas, a mobile phone and the woman from the last party - a complex situation. “The Telephone Call“ was conceptualized as a short film for Guido Cord Aengen-heyster’s show reel. I spent a few days with Guido rehearsing in an apartment which was the location for the film. It was important to me to precisely develop the four different characters that Guido was to impersonate. The story plot in a way became secondary.

Releases   9th, 13th, 15th & 16th Mai, Cologne, Kulturbunker Mühlheim
Contents   One apartment building, four tenants - caught in an oppressive room structure. Familiar with the (un-)natural habitat ‘apartment’, with all its negatives and positives, the viewer experiences the everyday worries and fears as well as the human abyss of the various tenants as a familiar yet startling illustration of society. The human being, deprived of all freedom because of existing social structures, can only act out his/her mannerisms, desires and obsessions by retreat within the boundaries of space. The human being depicted as a survivor within the social structure, depraved in seclusion at the same time. Without a wagging finger the play captures a snapshot of the lives of these people who circulate within resentment, lies, fear and boredom, within self-betrayal and self-abandonment and possibly finally within hope.

Assignment   Script & Director

Releases   Studiobühne Cologne, 1st-3rd. June, 2002
Contents   Short synopsis (excerpt from the concept submission in 2002): The aim is to try and weave a net around the term ‘time’ (‘Zeit’). German compound nouns like “Zeitzeuge“ (contemporary witness), „Zeitgeschehen“ (current events) or „Zeitgenosse“ (a person to spend time with, also: a person from the current era, i.e. a contemporary artist) along with the human desire to express and explain the phenomenon ‘time’ are the core subject matters of this play. Besides a philosophical approach, a sociolinguistic usage of the word ‘time’ shall be examined. Phrases like ‘man muss mit der Zeit gehen’ (having to keep up with the times) or ‘jemand ist seiner/ihrer Zeit voraus’ (somebody is ahead of his/her time) reflect social developments, depict conventions and sketch the image of a certain type of person. The last component of the play is dedicated to how humans sense time (“Zeitgefühl”). Time is perceived as passing quickly, at other times slowly. Sometimes we wish to bring time to a standstill or turn it back or even see into the future.
